Privacy policy

Last updated: 30 Oct 2026

This policy explains what information Bharatverseh ("we", "us") collects when you visit https://bharatverseh.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 in mind.

Information we collect

  • Information you send us, such as your name and email address when you write to us. We use it only to reply to you.
  • Technical information collected automatically by our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of the visit, which is kept in server logs for security and to keep the site running.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described below and in our cookie policy.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal data. We do not sell personal data.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If you choose "Essential only" in our cookie notice, we ask Google to show only non-personalised ads. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message managed through Google's certified consent platform. You can review or change your choice at any time with the "Privacy & cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

Residents of US states with consumer privacy laws, such as California, can opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information for targeted advertising. Where these laws apply, Google shows a "Do not sell or share my personal information" option on the site; using it limits ads to non-personalised ones.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which stories are read, in aggregate. Its cookies are set only if you choose "Allow all" in our cookie notice (or consent in Google's message, where that applies). You can also opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Reader polls on leader profiles

If you vote in the trust poll on a leader profile, we store a cookie in your browser for one year so you can vote only once on that profile. To limit automated voting, our server counts votes from each network per day, stored only as a one-way scrambled code (never your IP address), and discards the count after that day. Votes are anonymous and are not linked to you.

Reading in Hindi (Google Translate)

Our stories are written in English. If you choose हिंदी in the language switch, your browser loads Google Translate, which sends the text of the page to Google to show you a machine translation. Google sets a googtrans cookie to remember your choice; choosing EN removes it. Nothing is sent to Google Translate unless you pick Hindi. Machine translations can contain mistakes; the English text is the version we stand behind. See Google's privacy policy.

How long we keep data

Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your query and any follow-up. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, or withdraw consent, by writing to devv@bharatverseh.com. You may also contact our grievance officer, Devv Bairaagi.

Children

This site is a general news site and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Links to other sites

Our stories link to other websites, including official sources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
